I wonder if today made a prodigy,

Cause I met a new guy tonight

And he felt just right


I was absorbing every essence of his presence

Soaking in the way his voice makes waves throughout my brain

And every time he spoke I was stunned

Am I sinking in love?


Cause I haven’t been this taken aback in months,

Since I was traumatized by your touch

And I’ve only ever been able to envision you following that,

So this feels fucking fantastic


I’ve forgotten what falling feels like

I like what was in the air tonight

New lingering-yearning is formulated,

But it’s just fine


Cause I missed being that light

I missed you being off my mind

You’re on my mind for this one second while I write,

But then the rest of the time, is consumed

By infatuation anew


I forgot the

Thrill of the crush

The rush of mush

circulating your brain

As you picture this new man


Are these the first feelings of something new?

Even if it isn’t,

I’m fortunate enough to be able to comprehend the cycle of sentiment

I thought I’d never experience again


I gave up on getting over you this week,

But I guess something clicked,

cause now I’m looking at new…
