HOW DOES DAY BECOME NIGHT? by Chukwuka Chinakwe

I wonder… I just wonder

I look out of my soul, I see the world

I look out of my window, monitoring the slow changes

As the sun goes down and the evening breeze blows my skin

I am called by my parents to attend a small chore

I am shocked on my return; the world outside has suddenly become dark

I get so angry because I missed the exchange point

The point at which day becomes night

I shall monitor this again on the morrow

The morrow comes and I stare intently, unblinking at my window

To catch this magician unseen trick me once again

Two score years have passed and I think I have given up

All I know is that it is a great cycle of time exchange

All I know is I am in great awe of the designer of this system

All I know is that day becomes night everyday

And I know that night becomes day the next day

Whether I watch and blink or not, it is a cycle I simply cannot catch
