Joined underwater
Found breathing just fine
Red birds circle so delicately
Left out to dry, it was numbingly cold
Out there where the seaweed moves
Inhale the night, and hitchhike to your soul
Freeway lover, let go of the wheel.
Tea for two whenever you'd like
Purrs like a cat in my night bird truck
Fly around from ocean to tall buildings
Drown together trust my walk.
Wine undoes my seat belt
Like swing-sets where you can backflip
The river can hold plenty
But who can swim in a drought?
Waves save my appetite for rain
When white water takes it, and it all ends there
Like soldiers on beaches who said goodbye
Goodbye to whoever was listening.
