BOB DYLAN

Freezing

In the midst of a blizzard

Walking an empty street

that’s already gone to bed

White fog

Can’t see 5 feet ahead

Searching for

A milkshake

HUD

Loved ones come and go

Chin up they say, be strong

Constantly reliving a moment in your head

Wishing it would somehow be different

Running down the beach as soldiers

Until you became one

Stopping you in your tracks to hug you

Just to see a smile on your face

Even if just for a moment

29

Walking in Kyoto Gardens in London

Improperly dressed for the weather like a tourist

Sweating out drugs from the night prior

Seeing a past fling from high school at glance

Only to look back, and she’s gone

Trying on jackets I can’t afford in a flea market

Hoping to carry this energy with me home

Grabbing a ceramic mug for Rachel

Walking the streets back home thinking I got it figured out only for the feeling to dissipate once the high wears off

VICTORIA PT

The sound of a pencil scrapes down a piece of printer paper , pencil held like a knife being stabbed into something , carving the shape of a ship’s mast on an uneven surface atop a wooden dining table, a father & son drink warm milk & draw boats in the middle of a silent night, as the tide cracks like thunder against the shoreline
